Any work of Rowland and Marsellus in this time period is over the top. Symbolism is great- She is holding gold, with the aurora borealis behind her. This is to show the wealth and luck that Alaska provides. The woman on the right represents The Yukon. She is holding a train to represent new commerce. The woman on the left represents “The Pacific.” She is holding an ocean liner, representing trade opportunities with the orient through Seattle.
