Antique 1915 autograph book with signatures and sentiments written to Olga Bakus. Presumably inscribed by her classmates and teachers at Julia Richman High School in New York City. The majority of pages have been inscribed. The dates noted are 1915 and 1916. There are a few illustrations throughout the book and also a magazine clipping. A couple of the inscriptions are written in German.
Condition is used. There is extensive damage and overall wear to the leather covers including tears, soiling, and missing material. The spine is missing. There are some loose interior pages. Please zoom all photos for more details.
“Julia Richman High School was founded in New York City in 1913 as an all-girls commercial high school at 60 West 13th Street in Greenwich Village. It was named after Julia Richman, the first woman district superintendent of schools in New York City.”
