A beautifully crafted antique majolica-style oyster plate dating from approximately 1890 to 1910, during the height of European oyster service artistry. This striking piece features six molded oyster wells, each shaped with naturalistic contours and finished in soft blush-to-rose pink hues. Subtle gray crescent markings within each well imitate the organic interior of real oyster shells.
The wells are separated by raised channels in rich olive and cream tones, adding visual depth and evoking the look of clustered shells. At the center rests a bright lemon-yellow sauce well, a traditional element often found in late-19th-century oyster plates meant to hold lemon slices or mignonette.
