Authentic early 20th-century Vanlines Violet Temple Incense tin produced by A. A. Vantine & Co., New York, a well-known importer of Asian decorative goods and fragrances during the late 1800s–early 1900s.
The illustrated lithographed tin features a seated Buddha motif and original printed instructions on the reverse. The sliding-lid tin retains original incense cones, an uncommon survival that adds collectible appeal. Typography, artwork style, and address attribution place this example circa 1910s–1920s.
Condition shows honest age wear: surface scratches, edge wear, and patina consistent with age. Interior shows incense residue and partially intact cones. No modern reproduction indicators observed.
