This Vintage 1970's artisan serpent necklace/belt is extremely identical to designers DL Auld Company and Whiting & Davis though it is not a signed piece, as far as l can see. The body of the snake is handmade white metal enameled mesh mimicking snakeskin, and the head & tail are Gold-tone metal that is just the slightest bit tarnished. The head has large, clear, marquise rhinestones eyes.
The length of the Serpent is almost 40 inches, with the head 5/8 " wide, and body approximately 3/8" wide. The snake head functions as a "buckle" that clips on to the vintage metal body, affixed at your desired length for a necklace. Fact: I have carefully worn this serpent as a belt! Quite an unusual vintage find!
