Ottoman Empire Hammered Copper Tinned Box Handmade Antique 6” Spices Bread Bath

Hello. This is such a cool antique! It is an food storage container made as a lunch tote during the Ottoman Empire. It’s made from hammered Copper that has been tinned. Much of the tinning has rubbed off on the exterior. Please see pictures for additional details. It has a good seal still with the latch functioning perfectly and the handmade hinge on the rear is also in excellent condition! Just a really cool thing! It would look beautiful if polished, I think, but I did not want to rub off more of the 10 coating inadvertently. Good for helping to preserve freshness in a variety of items. It is ~6” diameter with a 2” x 3.75” handle. Without the handle it would simply be a spice box.
