This is a heavy and extremely rare pen holder (small item holder/candy dish/cutlery case) made of bronze-decorated opaline crystal glass from Old Baccarat (BACCARAT), the pinnacle of French crystal.

Circa 1880-1890.

Baccarat's milky white glass is made of crystal glass called opaline crystal glass, named after the gemstone opal, and it creates a clean and beautiful whiteness that was not found in previous glass, making it a very luxurious and rare work.

This piece is even more elegant with Rococo-style bronze decorations.

This work has an outstanding sense of luxury and presence.

As it is a work from before 1936, it does not have the Baccarat stamp.

Opaline crystal pen holders are extremely rare items.
