This is a fine example of mid-Victorian decorative glass, most probably originating from the renowned glassmaking region of Stourbridge, England. It employs a sophisticated technique of opaque white glass cased over clear crystal, which is then acid-etched and cut to create a detailed decorative pattern.

Condition: The acid-etched surface seems well-preserved, with sharp detail remaining in the grapevine pattern. The cut-to-clear printies are clean and show good clarity. The handle has broken off and has been previously repaired. This appears to be a period "staple repair," where small metal staples were used to physically bind the broken pieces together. There is a chip at the bottom of the handle. See photos for all details.
