First book club edition (gutter code “HB2N”) hardcover copy of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Harper & Row, 1970). Vintage copy of this beloved work of literature, the most iconic magical realism novels. Increasingly scarce edition with original cover art. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with mild rubbing/scuffing to faces and wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and small tears. Top fore corner of front dj cover torn and with small stained area to top edge of rear liner flap. Boards straight and clean but with corners bumped. Binding material faintly visible in a few gutters though spine is straight and binding remains strong on the whole. Two small discolored areas to outer edges of text block, otherwise all pages clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
