Albert Platero 1960s Sterling Silver Mudhead Kachina Cuff 35g Vintage Navajo Scrimshaw Bracelet Native American Jewelry

This striking vintage sterling silver cuff bracelet was handcrafted by renowned Navajo silversmith Albert Platero. It features a detailed Mudhead Kachina (Koyemsi) figure, expertly etched in scrimshaw style on what appears to be natural bone or faux ivory. The Mudhead is a sacred ceremonial clown in Hopi and Zuni traditions, known for spiritual guidance, humor, and dance during tribal ceremonies.

The split-shank cuff is adorned with twisted wire detailing and traditional Navajo silverwork framing the etched centerpiece. Weighing 35 grams, this piece has a solid feel and impressive presence on the wrist.

Platero’s signature is etched on the back. The cuff retains its original vintage patina, giving it character and honoring its age and craftsmanship.
