Antique Milk Glass Carved Cameo Pocket Watch Fob

🖤 For The Love Of Antique Jewellery… 🖤 Here we have an impressive late Georgian - early Victorian piece of jewellery. It could be used as a pendant or pocket watch watch fob / to hang on a chateliane. The central cameo is made from a sort of milk glass and it is wonderfully carved on both sides. It may have once been a wax seal / intaglio on a ring. Who knows! But it was obviously important enough to have it set on to a precious metal back in the day so that you can see both sides. The metal is a 9ct gold Pinchbeck and it is wonderfully detailed. There is a patent mark on the top loop. Although the front cameo is cracked it does not detract from how unusual and wonderfully eye catching it is. Set in a class black and white on gold, it is a timeless piece of jewellery which could be adapted and made in to anything these days. It’s so lovely to see it in its original time worn condition.
