A special cardigan created through a three-way collaboration between JOHN SMEDLEY, LECHOPPE, and 5525gallery.
In the past, Mr. Kaneko, the LECHOPPE conceptor, admired Vivienne Westwood's crew neck cardigan and wanted to create something similar for men. He commissioned John Smedley to produce a special order cardigan.
The sizing at the time was a just-right fit, which, in retrospect, was similar to women's sizing. It was very popular and has become a legendary item.
After more than a decade, this project has come to fruition.
This project focused particularly on the size balance, creating a relaxed silhouette without being too oversized.
Care was taken with the details to ensure it looked like "men's clothing," and a thick 24-gauge material was chosen to prevent the garment from looking too small.
The sleeves and hem are designed to be long, reminiscent of vintage sweatshirts.
A special three-way collaboration label is included, making this a truly exceptional piece.
