Handmade mid-century butterfly pendant necklace featuring detailed wire filigree construction in unmarked silver.
The butterfly is formed from individually wound silver wire, mounted within a circular frame and hand-soldered to a structural armature. The pendant and chain show oxidation consistent with silver and polish black, typical of sterling or high-silver alloy jewelry from this period.
The necklace retains its original hand-formed hook-and-eye clasp, a detail commonly seen on artisan jewelry made prior to the widespread use of lobster clasps.
Unmarked silver was standard for many handmade studio and artisan pieces of the mid-20th century.
