Embossed Tin ~ Die Stamped Shape
This Embossed tin sign was issued by Zippo Lighter in 1997 as part of a nostalgia 50th year anniversary of the Zippo Car promotion. It was not available to the general public. They were given to Zippo retailers for display purposes. They had a series of 3 different signs. This one has the 1947 Zippo Lighter Car prominently embossed in the center. Its unique die stamped shape and deep embossed highlights feature the Zippo Car and the 50th Anniversary of the Zippo Car.
They did not make a lot of them because they were not meant for public distribution. They were only available to Tobacco, Cigar and Cigarette stores. No dings, No bends, No rust, a couple scrapes, & typical handling patina. Four small nail holes in the corners for easy mounting.
