This piece was made to hold potpourri, but it can be used as a trinket box, covered candy dish etc. The Von Schierholz porcelain factory was established in 1817 in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany. It produced high-quality Dresden ware and is famous for its Rococo, ornately decorated porcelain, which featured gilding and applied foliage and flowers.
