This copy is in acceptable conditon. The dustjacket is intact; a lot of shelfwear (small tear developing at top of spine); a great deal of rubbing. Unclipped (still displays $23.95 price). the book itself has a lot of rubbing on the bottom of the front cover (see photos). There is also some dirty marks on the outside of the pages (near bottom corner). The boards also have some bumping.
The spine is tight and the pages inside are clean (except for an incription at the top of the first page; see last photo).
This is an excellent piece of historical fiction about the Spartans fighting the Persians. This book was on the Commandant's Reading List when I was in the United States Marine Corps, and it was read by most of the guys.
