My Dog Rinty by Ellen Tarry and Marie Hall Ets - 1966 Printing

My Dog Rinty is a true story about an African American boy living in Harlem in the mid-1940s with his family and a dog named Rinty that misbehaves. The book was written by Ellen Tarry and Marie Hall Ets and illustrated with black and white photographs by Alexander and Alexandra Alland. The book has a copyright date of 1946; this vintage copy is from the eighth printing in 1966 by Viking Press. It is an ex-library copy and thus has the usual flaws - card pocket, stamps etc. The dust jacket is present and was glued to the inside of the cover. Unfortunately the dust jacket was not protected with a book cover so there are smudges, chipping and paper loss around the edges. The pages are in good condition, still crisp with sharp corners. The binding holds the pages securely.
