Redskin Brand Chewing Tobacco" spittoon. It was used as a receptacle for collecting tobacco juice from chewing tobacco. About 14 inches tall.
Spittoons were common in public areas during the 19th century due to widespread chewing tobacco use.
The wide, funneled top was designed to catch spit from a distance.
This is a rare branded ashtray. I'll pull a couple dings out of it but its old. Still shinny finish. This one Sells $175 online.
