Gregory Colbert is a Canadian filmmaker and photographer born in Toronto in 1960. Since the 1990s, he has been documenting the interactions between animals and humans around the world through photographs and videos. A comprehensive exhibition of this work was held in Venice, Italy in 2002, followed by exhibitions in New York, Santa Monica, Tokyo, and Mexico City, which became a hot topic. This book is a collection of photographs produced to coincide with the 2007 exhibition in Tokyo, and consists of poetic photographs depicting the interaction between animals and humans. This collection was published in conjunction with the Nomadic Museum photo and video exhibition "Ashes and Snow." With a sophisticated design featuring a clasp made of bead-like nuts and Italian handmade paper, it has received worldwide acclaim as an "art book that harmonizes with nature."
