Vintage miniature cedar chest was crafted by Lane. Dates to the mid-20th century, c1950s–60s. This example features a United States Navy emblem mounted on the lid. The aromatic cedar interior reflects Lane’s long-standing reputation for quality and preservation. Its warm wood tones & classic form complement traditional, nautical, military, and Americana décor.
This cedar chest is attributed to Norfleet Sugg of Pinetops, North Carolina, a naval man who served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1944-1946. His ship was the U.S.S. Sabine stationed at Pearl Harbor. Fleet was in the Engineering Division. His battle station was shooting a 20 mm anti-aircraft gun. He was awarded 3 battle stars and eight ribbons.
Condition:
Vintage condition with surface scratches, light wear, & age-related marks; sticker and handwritten markings present on the underside. Structurally sound with original hardware.
