This gorgeous Vintage Royal Doulton Merry Christmas Plate is 4th in the series for the year 1980. This features an old-fashioned Santa walking through the snow with a sack on his back full of presents. In background is a church and a full moon, lettering reads Christmas 1980. Embossed surface to the plate and a border of holly leaves and berries. Gold rimmed edge.
The markings on the back read: Christmas Plate; Now thro the land, a welcome murmur steals, And this glad secret, the glad warmth reveals, That Christmas comes one's troubles to assuage, With snowy brow-like goodly kind old age.
