9 1/4" tall hand-painted relief stein with pewter lid. The center panel of the stein features a people sitting around a table while one strums and instrument, below the image incised in the body is "Auf der Alm" which translates to "On the Alm (alpine pasture). Surrounding the scene is edelweiss and mountains and incised below the handle is "A. MADEL BEIM BIER IST MEIN PLÄSIER" which translates to "A girl with my beer is my pleasure." This is an older, original item, please examine the photos carefully. The image shows the base mark of a vintage Gerz West Germany beer stein. The "W. Germany" mark indicates that the item was produced between the post-WWII era and German reunification in 1990. Good pre-owned condition shows signs of wear. Please see photos for exact condition
