Antique American covered butter keeper produced by La Belle China, a line manufactured by the Wheeling Pottery Company of Wheeling, West Virginia, during the late 19th to very early 20th century. La Belle China operated beginning in the late 1880s and is recognized for its Victorian-era transferware and semi-porcelain tableware.

This two-piece butter keeper features floral transferware design, scalloped rim, and gilt accents, produced from the 1890s–around 1910. The underside bears the “LaBelle China” maker’s mark, confirming Wheeling Pottery manufacture. Butter keepers from this maker are less common than plates or bowls and were intended for table service rather than storage crocks.

This piece shows extensive age-related crazing & staining, consistent with its age. No major structural cracks observed. Gilt wear & surface discoloration are present and visible in photos.
