This antique sterling silver baby cup was produced by Gorham and bears their early hallmark (lionanchorG), along with STERLING and model number A108. The raised repoussé band depicts classic nursery rhyme scenes, including the cat playing the fiddle, the dish running away with the spoon, and additional playful motifs such as a rooster, cradle, and teapot.
The cup is engraved Lucille 1899, likely marking a presentation date. Based on the hallmark style and construction, the cup itself may date as early as the 1850s1860s.
