Pal-Bell verdigris bronze ashtray by Maurice Ascalon.
The design is a heavy, cast bronze piece, often referred to as a nautilus shape with fluted edges.
It features a distinctive verdigris patina (the greenish-blue coloring in the well) typical of mid-century Israeli decorative arts. Hand made in Israel in the 1950s.
It can also be used as a candy dish.
