Believed to be Vintage or antique crackle glazed satsuma ware, advised that was likely made 1920-1930 which is Japanese Meiji period. i bought from a charity auction some time ago and then was described as antique Chinese export. Beautiful hand painted intricate moriage designs - lots of gold enamel trim and paintings depicting flowers and birds with pattern border top and bottom. Lovely condition for its age with no chips or cracks identified. Most of the time I have had it, it has been in the loft and never unpacked after a house move. This is a biscuit barrel with lovely shaped carry handle attached to the rim and matching lid. I believe the metal to be silver plated which has also survived quite well. This is a lovely item and collectible. While the base shows a number 3 and 13 (likely painter and import number)? There is no stamp or signature. I needed to take advice as I believed it to be Chinese but recently saw similar labelled as Japanese.
