Vintage gold & yellow sequin feather showgirl cape

Vintage showgirl/drag/party cape, originally from a circus. It’s a black semi sheer fabric with gold metallic polkadots, gold sequin upper and a huge yellow feather trim around the bottom. The gold sequin part at the top is sewn together as sleeves, just slip your arms into the holes so it can be worn as a cape jacket, it just sits on the shoulders. The fabric is double lined on the wings so the gold polkadots are visible from the front too. There is also a strap at the back centre at the bottom so you can lift the tail up and carry it. Great condition, it is a handmade piece so the construction is a little shabby and crude in places, there’s some slightly visible stitching for example, but there’s no major flaws or faults. Some minor feather shedding as expected with boas. Please note that this was designed for petite circus dancers and acrobats so the distance between the armhole entry points at the top is fairly narrow, I’d estimate it to best fit a 6-8, possibly 10, though if you have some basic sewing skills I’m sure it can easily be altered to fit larger sizes or give broader back space by opening the arm seams. Loads of potential for those with creative flair! It’s approx 15” across from shoulder to shoulder, 50” in length taken down the middle of the back, the armholes are 10” wide and it’s approx 11” from one armhole across to the other. Mannequin is a modern size 8 for reference.
